🐦🇳🇱 Explore The Netherlands with My Latest Blog Posts!

Hi Reader

This week, I’ve taken a slight deviation from my usual format of sending out new blog posts one by one for a weekly round up!

After getting back from Spain recently where I attended a wedding for one of my best friends, I was reminded of my trip to visit her in Amsterdam exactly two summers ago. I started going down memory lane and I was inspired to finally write about my trip - something I’ve long been wanting to share with all of you! 🇳🇱

It begins with this story:

How My First Free International Flight Led to Lifelong Memories and Adventures in Amsterdam 🇳🇱

I’ve been on this incredible journey exploring The Netherlands and have published eight new blog posts about my adventures.

Instead of filling your inbox with multiple emails, I thought it would be more convenient to compile all the posts into one comprehensive email for you to explore at your leisure. The series isn’t completely done, but the final 2-3 posts will go live in the coming days! (Stay tuned for them!)

Below is a list of my latest blog posts, each highlighting a unique aspect of my travels in The Netherlands. They’re listed in order of how I published them so you can follow chronologically. ☺️

Let’s go:

In honor of June being Pride Month, I wanted to inform everyone that the world’s first gay marriage took place in Amsterdam. In this post, we take a deep dive into the history and significance of Amsterdam legalizing same-sex marriage.

It’s because of my visit to Amsterdam that I learned how amazing spearmint and peppermint taste. This year in 2024, I’ve been 6 months 100% caffeine-free and I owe it all to the discovery I made in AMS!

For my fellow foodies, I wanted to explain Amsterdam’s famous sweets.

Fun fact: Amsterdam has more bicycles than residents!

Fellow bird lovers, you’re in for a treat with this one. If you’ve never seen a coot with their funky huge feet, you’ve gotten click through and watch me feed peas to one.

Amsterdam is famous for its canals which are lined with houseboats! I took a wine and cheese tour and shared what I learned:

Finally, earlier today I shared the story of my day trip to Zaandam. I went to Zaanse Schans: a picturesque place with traditional Dutch windmills.

There’s still more to come so definitely stay tuned!

Aside from that, I hope you’re all enjoying the weekend. Isn’t it crazy to think summer is only 5 days away?

PS: What do you think of this format? Sending a roundup email rather than single blog posts by email? Sometimes I think a lot of my subscribers forget that every single one of these emails comes straight from me. They are not automated! So the great part of that is that I can approach them any way you guys want. I’m thinking of experimenting a bit with it. If you like this better, let me know! :D

Talk soon.

I've published a new post! In consideration of the uncontrolled wildfires in Canada that caused record-breaking hazardous air quality and habitat destruction, I wanted to visit the New York City Audubon Mural Project. The Mural Project aims to raise awareness about birds threatened by climate change by featuring over 314 species of endangered birds. The project is a public art initiative that commissions artists to paint murals of each threatened bird in various neighborhoods around all...
